As Hawcroft's first Canadian Risk Engineer, Mairim Neves is helping strengthen the company's presence across North America. A Professional Engineer with more than 24 years of experience, she has led engineering and capital projects throughout North and South America and supports clients in both English and Spanish. Mairim combines extensive technical expertise with practical project leadership to deliver risk engineering solutions for the global mining industry.
Senior Fire Safety and Risk Engineer | Hawcroft
moira brown
Moira is a Fire Safety and Risk Engineer with 17 years' experience in the consulting and mining industries, and is based in Perth, Western Australia. She has experience in large industrial projects, underground mining, surface mining, refining process and smelting operations. Moira has previously worked as the subject matter expert for mining companies providing technical advice, undertaking fire risk assessments, delivering strategic asset reliability planning, and developing maintenance continuous improvement and best practice frameworks.

Operations Manager | Hawcroft
Chris holds mining qualifications in both the United States and Australia including Underground Foreman (New Mexico, United States) and Open Cut Examiner (New South Wales, Australia) and has been certified to conduct safety and health investigations through the ICAM Incident Lead Investigator Program. Chris’ diverse background includes varied roles and experience in risk management, leading incident investigations, internal assurance audits, process safety, statutory inspections, contractor management, continuous improvement, technical services and varied operational leadership roles.

Nathan Stubina is a recognised leader in the global mining industry with more than 35 years of experience spanning technical, operational and executive leadership roles. Having held senior positions with organisations including Sherritt International, McEwen Mining, Barrick Gold and Noranda/Falconbridge, he has helped mining companies successfully implement technology, process and cultural change. A former CEO of PACE.Global and current Technical Advisor to Toro Exploration, Nathan combines deep technical expertise with practical leadership to inspire innovation, challenge conventional thinking and improve performance across the mining industry.

Reijo Pold is Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Value.Space, where he leads the application of satellite-based analytics to infrastructure and mining risk. His work helps insurers and mining companies detect structural movement, assess asset integrity and monitor critical infrastructure remotely. Through collaborations with industry leaders and global insurers, Reijo is helping shape the future of digital risk engineering by combining advanced satellite technology with practical, data-driven risk management.
